The Man Without a Country is a stirring patriotic drama that celebrates gratitude for the United States and the privileges of citizenship.

Lieutenant Philip Nolan, a talented but impulsive young officer, rashly declares during a treason trial that he wishes he may never hear of the United States again. The court grants his wish.

Banished to life at sea aboard US Navy vessels, Nolan is forbidden to speak of—or hear news about—his country. Over decades of isolation, he comes to understand what he has lost: the blessings of liberty, the beauty of shared history, and the pride of belonging to a nation built on sacrifice and hope.

By the end of his life, Nolan’s heart is filled not with bitterness, but with deep gratitude and love for the country he once took for granted.
