Set during the height of the French Revolution, The Scarlet Pimpernel is a tale of heroism, courage, and Christ-like self sacrifice in the face of unspeakable dangers. In our original musical production of the Scarlet Pimpernel, the shadow of the guillotine looms large. The innocent as well as the guilty were often made to pay the ultimate price, and these historical realities of the French Revolution are explored over the course of our musical. With that in mind, our recommendation to parents is to be sensitive to the tragic nature of the historical period.
